  • The NES game Snake Rattle ’n’ Roll or simply "Snake", is a logical platformer with pseudo 3D graphics (isometric playing field).

The game features two heroes, two snakes - a blue one named Roll and a red one named Rattle. The main objective of the player is to eat balls in order to gain more weight, to be weighed on the scales and thus gain access to the next level. Eating the balls grows not only the weight of the snake, but its length. There are various enemies on the levels - monsters that can attack the player. The snake, in turn, can attack the enemy with its tongue or by jumping from above. These attacks don't work on all monsters and bosses. With each attack snake loses one of the collected balls and becomes shorter, the main thing is not to lose all collected, otherwise one life is taken away.

In Snake Rattle ’n’ Roll there are only ten levels, in each of which you not only have to fight your opponents, but also think through your moves. The game has a two-player mode, in which one will play for the blue snake, the other for the red one. On the first level of the game it's possible to move directly to the eighth, to do this, you need to be in time for the ready to launch rocket. On pirate versions of the game you can pass only in this way, because the seventh level did not work.

The snake game was met with average scores by critics and players. This is primarily due to the complicated management. As it is, you have to calculate the length or height of your jumps and speed of your movement all the time, and the poor character controls made things much more difficult.
