  • The NES game, Qix or simply "Qix", is an arcade game that was originally developed in 1981 for the arcade machine. Years later, the game was re-released for various platforms, including the NES.

    Qix

Qix has its own terminology, in the game each object has its own name, the moving "stick" itself, which changes shape and location and is called Quix. The goal of the game itself is to capture the playing field, in this case a square. The player controls a marker (Stix) that can be used to draw (grab) boundaries in the perimeter. If Qix touches a boundary marked by the player, the player loses one life, but if the player manages to mark a boundary area, that area is converted into an occupied area. The game itself has instructions and all arcade terminology.

The gameplay of Qix is fairly non-standard, because it was originally grounded for an arcade machine, but the joystick crosswheel is quite comfortable to play. Each level of the game has a countdown timer, in the case of the expiration of time the player loses. With subsequent levels the game becomes more difficult by increasing the speed, as well as the appearance of additional Quicks and Sparks. In general, the game Qix enough fascinating, at first glance it seems not clear and difficult, but worth to play a little and everything becomes clear. Despite the unusual gameplay and various terms the game is quite simple, and the presence of a two-player mode is a definite plus.
