Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a NES game based on the Ninja Turtles cartoon series, although the appearance of the game's characters is borrowed from the comics. The plot of the game, as in all stories about turtles, is to fight with Shredder. April must be freed and Sprinter, the teacher, must regain his "human" appearance.
The characters in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the familiar four turtles: Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael. Right from the beginning of the game you can choose any hero, they differ only in their weapons. The uniqueness of the game lies in the different types of levels. You can walk around on the surface of the city, then the appearance resembles 3D with a view from above, and you can go down into sewer manholes and enter buildings, then the game changes to a standard platformer view. In the course of the game you can change the turtles when the active one has too little health. The game appealed to gamers and that's why two years later its second part was released - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
In general, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES is interesting enough with its then-new approaches to gameplay, so it is recommended to fans of arcade genres and action games.
