The plot of Gradius 2 sees the player become the pilot of a spaceship, Vic Viper, and go on a battle with the Bacterion Empire, led by a boss in the form of a huge head. The gameplay of Gradius 2 is identical to its first part, but the developers introduced some innovations, such as the ability to choose the weaponry of the ship before starting the game. Moreover, all the armament is balanced sets, i.e. in some set more powerful weapons, but weaker armor, in some set less guns, but they are more powerful, etc. Thus, the developers apparently decided to keep the balance in the game. Although what are we talking about? Balance and Gradius - things are not compatible.
There's not much to say about Gradius 2, just like in the first part. High difficulty, heaps of different types of enemies that attack in waves. As in the first part, there is a two-player mode. If you don't feel sorry for your nerves and you don't have a tendency to break your joysticks after a bad roll, you should enjoy this game.
