The game Power Punch 2 on NES, is a platformer in the sports genre with a fantastic story, which in spite of its name has no first part. Originally, the developers were supposed to make Mike Tyson the hero of the game, but as a result of the career change of the athlete it was decided to make the hero a fictional one.
The plot of the game is that a professional boxer named Mark Tyler, nicknamed "Tough Guy", has won the title of champion by defeating all the strongest opponents on Earth. After his last win, in which Mark proved himself perfectly by knocking out his opponent, he and his manager on live news begin to taunt and claim that he has no equal in the entire world. At this time, at the edge of the universe, a broadcast signal with Mark's statements has been picked up by an alien promoter of the Intergalactic Boxing Federation. The promoter reacts to Tyler's statement and challenges him to take part in the universe championship and he agrees.
In this time, the promoter is not allowed to take part in the game.
The gameplay of Power Punch 2 includes training modes in which you can hone your skills as well as boxing duels. The player can punch with different hands on top and bottom of the opponent, block and dodge. Each round lasts one minute, and the winner is the fighter with the most points for accurate hits and knockdowns.
