  • The Paperboy game for NES is a newspaper deliveryman arcade simulator developed in 1984 by Atari for various platforms, including the NES.

In Paperboy, the player controls a newspaper delivery boy who rides a bicycle. The main objective is to deliver all newspapers to all locations given before levels begin. Not only does the player have to get the paper at the door of the house as he rides past it, but he must also keep an eye on the road as it often has obstacles like cars, curbs, fleeing pedestrians etc. etc.

The gameplay of Paperboy is very peculiar and original, gamers have received it positively, because no one has developed similar games before. Before the mission starts, you're shown a street map and the locations of houses where you want to deliver newspapers. The number of newspapers is limited, throwing it to the wrong house you will lose points. What's more, it's the door you should throw at, so if you miss, you can break a window or hit someone.

In general, Paperboy is a very interesting game with original idea and humor, it can be called the first simulator of its kind. The game gained a lot of popularity and even got a sequel called Paperboy 2, but only seven years later. In addition to the originality in the simulator there is a cooperative mode of play for two players, so this masterpiece is definitely recommended for all fans of NES.
