The Punisher

The Punisher, or "Punisher", is a third-person shooter developed in 1990, based on the Marvel comics, specifically for the NES. The game was later re-released on the Game Boy and various other platforms.

The plot of The Punisher corresponds to the plot of the comic books of the same name. The player, controlling the hero, has to fight different gangs of New York City and their bosses. Before the start of the game there is an option to choose one of three levels, which will have an individual location, enemies and boss.

The gameplay of The Punisher is standard for games of this genre: the screen moves sideways, and the player must have time to destroy enemies and collect ammunition for their weapons. Although the gameplay is quite similar to Operation Wolf, it also has a number of differences. First of all, the screen shows not only the gun sight, but the character himself, and you can dodge enemy attacks in combat. Secondly, The Punisher, unlike the same Operation Wolf, has no support for playing with the light gun.

On the whole The Punisher is not a bad action game and really deserves attention of all fans of this genre and fans of Marvel's creativity.
