  • The NES game Rolling Thunder is a shooter game that was developed in 1986 for the arcade machine in Japan. Two years later, the game was re-released on various other platforms, including the NES.

The plot of Rolling Thunder has the player controlling a secret agent, named Albatross, who belongs to a unit of the World Crime Police Organization, called Rolling Thunder. The game takes place in New York City, and Albatross' main objective is to rescue his partner, Leila Blits, who has been kidnapped by a terrorist group called Geldra.

The gameplay of Rolling Thunder adheres to the classic standards of games of the genre. The character is able to run, jump high, squat and use a gun or automatic weapon. The enemies are the members of the group, as well as various mutants and even fantastic creatures. The levels contain shelters in the form of doors that the player can hide behind to avoid being spotted by the enemies, as well as behind some of the doors there are bonuses that increase health, weapons, etc.

There are ten levels in Rolling Thunder, and at the end of the last level you have to fight the boss, the boss of Maboo. In general, the game attracts with beautiful graphics and gameplay, but the disadvantages are the monotony of levels and the lack of a two-player mode.
