  • The NES game Renegade, or Renegade, is an arcade shooter game originally developed in Japan, called Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun in 1986. The game was later re-released for the United States, where it was renamed Renegade. This game is part of the famous Nekketsu series, and a huge number of action games were subsequently created based on it by various developers.

The game is part of the famous Nekketsu series.

The plot of Renegade is briefly narrated by the game's opening splash screen, which shows the kidnapping of Hiroshi, a friend of the protagonist Kunio. As a result, Kunio embarks on a dangerous adventure in search of his comrade, whose kidnapping involves street gangs.

    The story of Renegade

The gameplay of Renegade has, as previously stated, become a benchmark in the genre and set the stage for many famous games that came out years later. The main character is able to run, jump, bend, hit with his hands and feet, to make throws, as well as to use weapons knocked out of opponents. In addition, you can finish lying on the ground enemy, climbing up on him and striking blows from above. Enemies also have a variety of fighting techniques, can make grapples and act together. Some enemies are armed with both bladed weapons and firearms.

In general, Renegade is a legend of its genre; it's the one that started the development of many famous action games based on its similar gameplay. The presence of a two-player mode makes the game more appealing and interesting, recommended for all beat 'em up fans.
