The NES game P.O.W.: Prisoners of War is a scrolling shooter, originally developed for the arcade, then moved to consoles. P.O.W.: Prisoners of War translates to Russian as "Escape from Captivity", but in the 90's many boys called this game "Prison Break".
The game's story corresponds to its title -- you play as a prisoner of war named Bart who must bypass all the obstacles to break free, but first have to deal with the camp commander.
The gameplay in P.O.W.: Prisoners of War meets all shooter requirements. You can fight your enemies at close range, collect edged weapons and firearms from your enemies and use them, as well as find hidden military equipment. As the opponents are the military, including military equipment. In locations it is possible to enter buildings and find useful objects there. On the arcade machine P.O.W.: Prisoners of War had a two-player game mode, but on the NES this mode, unfortunately, was not included.
