  • The NES game Kid Icarus, or "Kid Icarus", is a platform action game originally developed in Japan specifically for the Famicom in 1986 and was re-released in Europe and the US on the NES a year later. In Japan, the game is known as "Hikari Shinwa: Palutena no Kagami", which literally translates as "Mythology of Light: The Mirror of Palutena".

The plot of Kid Icarus takes the player to the mythological world of ancient Greece, called Angel Land (land of angels). As the main character, an angel named Pete, the player has to save his country of angels and its ruler, Poluten, from the dark forces. To accomplish this task, Pete embarks on a dangerous adventure in search of three sacred artifacts, because only with their help can stop evil.

The gameplay of Kid Icarus contains all the classic elements of its genre. The protagonist can jump high, climbing on platforms, as well as armed with a battle bow with infinite arrows to attack enemies. As the enemies on the way the hero comes across a variety of monsters that can run, jump, shoot and fly. Hitting the enemy can collect bonus points in the form of hearts. Each of the three treasures is guarded by a boss that must be defeated.

The game Kid Icarus received a lot of positive reviews from critics and gamers when it was released, and as a result it was considered one of the best games of its genre. There have been some negative statements highlighting the game's high difficulty and immediate graphics, but if you love the genre, Kid Icarus is definitely recommended.
