The Hunt for Red October

The Hunt for Red October game for NES is based on the plot of the movie of the same name, according to which the USSR has developed a unique submarine which the USA wants to steal.

I do not particularly want to go into the plot, the whole point is that the player controlling the submarine must drive it to U.S. shores, passing on the way various obstacles and enemies, in the form of military equipment. The submarine is equipped with various weapons, which has a limited amount of ammunition. Collecting bonuses, you can replenish ammunition, as well as collecting different types of shells, which differ in blast force and other characteristics.

The gameplay of the game "Chasing Red October" at the time of release was not standard enough, namely a scrolling shooter about submarines. The game does not feature special graphics or music design, there is only unusual gameplay and storyline from the movie. The Hunt for Red October, by the way, was considered anti-Soviet in the Soviet Union, well, judging by the plot - it is not surprising. In general, the game can be characterized as an unusual shooter with underwater battles, without any special features in graphics and music, but to play it or not - that's for you to decide.
