The game for NES, Hammerin' Harry, is an arcade action game developed in Japan in 1990 for arcades. Two years later the game was ported to various other platforms, including the Famicom, and in 1992 to the NES. In Japan Hammerin' Harry is known as Daiku no Gen-san, but it was renamed for the US and European market.
Hammerin' Harry's gameplay is standard for games of this genre, the character can run, jump and strike with his hammer. In addition to attacking, you can use your hammer as a defensive block, to deflect your enemies' blows and to retaliate against various projectiles. The opponents in the game are different ninjas - mercenaries of the construction corporation. Enemies are armed with all sorts of weapons: bladed, throwing and firearms. At the end of each mission there is a battle with bosses, and you must choose your own tactics to defeat them.
