  • The NES game Ghosts'n Goblins is a platform action game that was developed in Japan for arcades and known as Hell's Village. The game was later re-released on console and made its way to Europe. On pirate cartridges Ghosts 'n Goblins was called "Ghostly Village," which translates to "Ghost Village."

The game's title was "Ghostly Village.

The story of the game tells about the journey of knight Arthur, whose beloved has been kidnapped by evil demon Astaroth, and his task is to get to the villain's lair and free the princess. The protagonist has armor and various weapons with which he fights his enemies. The armor can be found with various upgrades as the game progresses, as can a variety of weapons. If the enemy successfully attacks, Arthur loses his armor and is left in his underpants, after the second attack the hero dies. The enemies are different evil creatures, that crawl up from everywhere in great numbers: zombies, ghosts, demons etc.

Ghosts'n Goblins is considered a very complex game, although the gameplay is quite comfortable and standard for a game of this genre. At the time of its release, the game achieved high sales and is considered one of the publisher's best-selling games. Many believe that the success of the game lies precisely in its difficulty of passing. The gameplay involves a two-player mode with alternating play.
