  • The NES game Crisis Force is a vertically scrolling action shooter platformer which has been released in Japan and has not been re-released for the US and Europe.

In the plot of Crisis Force, brother and sister Asuka and Maya must save the world from artificially bred monsters from the lost civilization of Atlantis. To fight the enemies, which reach enormous sizes, the heroes use combat flying ships. The seven monsters that flooded Atlantis years ago have risen again and are trying to take over the world. Asuka and Maya are simple Japanese schoolchildren who learn from their parents at the time of the monsters' attack that they are adopted children, but in fact their lineage comes from the ancient "Mu" civilization.

The gameplay of the game adheres to the classic requirements for this genre, of its features can be noted the possibility of transforming the battleship in various modifications, right during the game. The player can transform the ship during combat and thus change its weapons and other characteristics. There are three ship types available which can be transformed, and each of them has its own advantages in certain situations.

Crisis Force features a two-player mode where everyone plays as a brother and sister. The players' flying ships differ only in color, but in all other respects they are exactly the same.
