Contra Force

The game for NES - Contra Force, is a continuation of the legendary Contra series of games, more specifically, its second part Super Contra. The game's plot unfolds in the city of Neo-City, you play as one of the four fighters of the elite squad to fight crime. The task of the squad is to stop the activities of the crime syndicate in the city.

Contra Force is a 2-player mode like all previous games in the series. You can choose from four different characters with different sets of weapons. If you press pause during the game, you can switch to another character. The special squad includes a stormtrooper, a sniper, a bomber, and a heavy weapons specialist, and you change weapons when you press select. In addition to a different set of weapons, each character has a distinctive physical ability - speed of movement.

The game's gameplay is identical to the previous parts - it's a scrolling shooter with constant shooting, collecting power-ups and battling bosses. There is no doubt that Contra Force surpasses the first two parts of the game in terms of gameplay innovations, improved graphics and music design. Contra Force was supposed to be the third installment in the series, but its release was deliberately delayed until Contra III: The Alien Wars was released on the SNES platform. Thus, Contra Force became the fourth installment in the Contra series.
