The plot of Choujin Sentai Jetman tells the story of a team of Rangers fighting against the dark forces. The team consists of five rangers who have individual skills, character traits, and weapons. At the beginning of each level you can choose any of the heroes. In addition to the weapons unique to each hero, the rangers can transform from human form to a giant robot to fight the bosses at the end of each level. The game's bosses are a variety of giant monsters, so they require transformation into the team robot, Icarus, to defeat them.

There are a total of six levels in the game, five of which are selectable, and the last one is unlocked after passing all the previous ones. Choujin Sentai Jetman's gameplay features a variety of difficulty modes, as well as a save-the-game feature that allows you to save your progress with passwords. Overall, Firebird is an interesting action game with colorful graphics and nice music, so it can be safely classified as one of the best NES games.
