Battletoads

The NES game Battletoads or Battle Toads was originally developed to compete with the then popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In the game, the three battle toads Rush, Zitz and Pimple, along with Professor Burt and Princess Angelica, fly in a spaceship to the princess' planet to get her there. On the way, they are attacked by the Dark Queen and Pimple and the princess are both captured. The battle toads need to rescue their friends from the captivity of the villainess, and to do so they head to the queen's lair, to her planet, where all the main events of the game take place.

The game consists of twelve levels in which the player will face off against various opponents, including the Dark Queen's sidekicks, bosses.

Battle Toads has received a lot of popularity and as a result it has been released on many different platforms and received sequels.
