The Bard’s Tale NES game is a fantasy role-playing game developed in 1985 for the Apple 2 PC, and later re-released on different consoles.

The gameplay of The Bard’s Tale is quite non-standard for that time, it has both 3-dimensional graphics and beautiful character animation. All the action takes place through dialogue or choice of actions. The main task of the hero, the bard, to clear all the dungeons of enemies, gain more points and pump your skills. While exploring the dungeons, you will come across not only different enemies, but also puzzles to solve. The combat in The Bard’s Tale is turn-based and not implemented graphically, for that time it was quite normal.

On the whole, The Bard’s Tale is an interesting role-playing game that can draw you in with its non-standard gameplay, but if you don't know English, you will hardly be able to play it. Later on the game received a lot of positive feedback and even got two sequels, but on other platforms.
