Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom

The NES game Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom is an adventure quest, originally developed in Japan and later re-released in the U.S. and Europe.

The plot of Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom unfolds in a fairytale Salad Kingdom where all the characters are fruits and vegetables. The player has to, in the role of the knight Cucumber, perform the task of King Broccoli. The fact that the evil minister, Pumpkin, captured Princess Tomato, and the king broccoli asks the main character to deal with the villain and free the princess, in this case, the king himself is killed. From the very beginning of the game, the protagonist has an assistant, Percy, who gives useful hints and helps Cucumber with his quests.

The game's gameplay is a text-based quest, and the player can move around the world and interact with various characters and objects. To interact with a character or object, you need to select the desired action from a list of possible actions. Despite the various quests and puzzles throughout the game, Cucumber can only lose if he is defeated in a battle with Minister Pumpkin, in the final level.
