  • The NES game Pipe Dream is a logic puzzle game originally developed in 1989 for the PC, and later ported to various other platforms, including the NES. The PC version was called Pipe Mania, while on the NES and a few other platforms it was called Pipe Dream.

The point of Pipe Dream is to construct a water pipe system from pipes of different shapes. A green colored liquid will run through the pipe and must pass through the system so as not to flood the playing area. The player's task is to quickly, in a limited amount of time, construct the system from the pipes of different shapes offered to him. The shape of the pipes is shown in a separate section of the screen, so the player can think ahead about connections and the shape of the entire system.

Pipe Dream gameplay features a two-player mode, and the best part is that it's not turn-based, but cooperative. Each player is given a specific number of differently shaped pipes, and both players must coordinate their actions to build an effective pipe system and prevent fluid spills. Each subsequent level of the game becomes more difficult, by reducing the time it takes to build the pipeline.

On the whole, Pipe Dream is a rather interesting game with its gameplay, especially in cooperative mode, which is not only a lot of fun, but also brings players together around a common goal.
