The NES game Dragon’s Lair is a logic arcade game with puzzle elements, developed in 1983 for the arcade machine, and later ported to various platforms, including the NES. The game became extremely popular and in 1984 an animated series based on its plot was even made.

The plot of Dragon’s Lair tells about the adventures of a knight named Dirk who goes on a dangerous journey to rescue his beloved Princess Daphne from the captivity of an evil dragon. Dirk must pass nine levels, in various locations, pass all the tests and fight the dragon.

The gameplay of Dragon’s Lair is fairly unconventional, combining an arcade mode where you have to jump, crawl and fight with enemies, as well as a puzzle mode. To pass any level is not enough to be able to swing a sword or wield a throwing weapon, all locations are filled with a mass of different traps, which must be avoided and anticipate the actions of the enemy in different situations.

On the whole, Dragon’s Lair is a very entertaining game, it was not for nothing that it gained huge popularity in its time and was ported to almost every possible platform of the time. In addition to clever gameplay, the game has decent graphics, music design and a share of humor.
