The game for NES - Chinese Chess or "Chinese Chess" is a simulation of the Chinese board game "Xiangqi", developed in 1991. The game has other names: Zhong Guo Xiang Qi and Qi Wang.
Siangqi is a likeness of Western chess, this board game is widely popular not only in China but also beyond. The game is played with chips on the board, but unlike chess the board is not divided into squares, and ruled by lines horizontally and vertically, the pieces are placed at the intersection of the lines, not on cells. The board is divided by a line (river) which affects the movement of queens (generals) and bishops. Instead of carved pieces, wooden tokens with markings are used; many pieces are similar to chess pieces, such as pawn, bishop, queen, etc.
Its Chinese Chess was originally published in Chinese. All pieces (pieces) have Chinese signs, but our version, translated into Russian, shows all the pieces as classical chess. In addition, if you do not know the rules of the game in Xiangqi, then there is a translated into Russian detailed instructions, reading which you can understand the gist. Chinese Chess can be played as a single player by selecting one of three difficulty modes, as well as two players.
