The main character of the game is a little man named Rockford, who travels through caves and collects diamonds. He arrives by plane to the so-called "Boulder World" consisting of several islands and must get all the diamonds there. Each of the islands, in turn, has a number of levels, all of which are marked on the game map.

In order to collect all the diamonds and get out of the cave alive you must not fall under the boulders which are present in large quantities in all locations. Rockford has the ability to dig soil to move through the cave, but you must be careful, boulders cave and fall, at some points, you need to specifically bring them down to free up the passage. Levels in Boulder Dash have different decorations, some boulders look like real stones, others look like crocks or statues and so on.

All in all, Boulder Dash is quite interesting with its gameplay, and an added bonus is the two-player mode that you can enjoy with a friend.
