The NES game BlockOut, or "Blockout", is a Tetris type puzzle game, only in 3D space. The game was released in Poland, in 1989 on the PC, after which it was ported to other platforms, but never released on the NES.
In the early 2000s a BlockOut NES game cartridge appeared in an auction which was an unreleased prototype of the game. The cartridge was purchased by a collector for a lot of money and the game was released to the public. Thanks to this collector, we had the opportunity to play Block Out on the NES. In fact, this game on NES is no different from other platforms, nice graphics, same Tetris rules and so on.
In the game you can choose a set of blocks and the size of the container in which they will fall. Like Tetris, the pieces fall from the top down to the bottom of the pit, and they can be rotated. The main task of the player is to place the pieces evenly on the bottom, as a result of which they disappear and give bonus points. Like classic tetris, BlockOut is endless, with each level increasing in difficulty, due to the increasing speed of the falling pieces.
BlockOut is an endless game.
