The game for NES - Yie Ar Kung-Fu or popularly just Kung Fu, is an arcade fighting game, which became one of the first and laid the foundations of the genre. The game is based on the plot of a popular movie at the time, starring Bruce Lee.
The hero of the game must defeat all opponents in a tournament and win the title of Grand Master of Martial Arts. The character has a large number of different punches and is able to jump high. As opponents also act fighters with their own unique techniques and abilities. Unlike the main character, many of the fighters have weapons, including throwing. Yie Ar Kung-Fu was very popular because the game came bundled with most consoles as tanks.
Yie Ar Kung-Fu has a two-player mode, but unfortunately only with alternating play. The complexity of the gameplay is that the opponent doesn't just need to hit the body like in most modern fighting games, but to hit a certain point. As Kung Fu has gained considerable popularity, it has received a sequel, but only on the home computer.
