  • The NES game Yo! Noid or "Hey! Noid" is an arcade platformer, released in Japan and then in the United States. In Japan this game was called "Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru", which translates as "Hanamaru Masked Ninja". In the USA, the game came out with another character named Noid, the name of the mascot of one of the famous pizzerias of the 80's, and it was made to promote this pizzeria. Hanamaru used a bird (a hawk) as his weapon, and Noid used a Yo-Yo toy.

The plot of Yo! Noid is set in New York City, where Noid's doppelganger is wreaking havoc across the city and the mayor of New York asks Noid to deal with him. Scrolls are scattered throughout the locations, collecting which Noid accumulates a super punch. In addition to walking in some levels of the game you can ride a skateboard and fly a plane.

On the whole, the game Yo! Noid is a fun arcade game with comic elements, well, and of course the promotion. Speaking of which, when the game was released, we included a coupon for the equivalent of one dollar to buy a pizza with the cartridge and instructions.
