Rockin' Kats

The game for NES Rockin' Kats or "Cool Cats" is an arcade platformer whose main character is a cat named Willie. The game was released in the United States, followed by a release in Europe. It was also released in Japan, but under a different name - New York Nyankies.

The story of the game is about true Willie, who lives in New York and plays jazz, that's why he has such nickname - The Rockin' Kat. One day Willie's friend, a cat named Jill, is kidnapped by the local gangster dog Mugzy and he sets out on a journey to save her. You have to pass through five different locations of the city or five movies, that's how many levels the game consists of. The levels in Rockin' Kats are presented like movies, the game menu even has a TV image. The levels can be passed not in order, but choosing any of the four, that makes the game not linear. The fifth round becomes available only after passing the four, it is the most difficult and intense. As the boss, in each of the levels, serves Mugzy. After passing any level you can use the proceeds to buy a variety of bonuses. In addition to the standard levels in Rockin' Kats there are mini-games, as well as the ability to save progress by using a password.

Willie the cat is armed with a boxing glove on a spring, which can not only attack opponents, but also push off obstacles, clinging and untwisting on various ledges, catch falling objects and throw them. Cool Cats is a fun and interesting arcade game that will appeal to fans of the genre.
