  • The NES game Rampage is an arcade platformer developed in 1986 for the arcade machine. The game was later re-released on many other platforms, including the NES.

The plot of Rampage differs slightly from the original on different platforms. The main characters in the game are ordinary people - George, Lizzie and Ralph - who have been subjected to scientific experiments, as a result of which they mutated and turned into a huge-sized garilla, a lizard and a werewolf. The NES version of Rampage doesn't have a werewolf. As a result of this mutation, the heroes go on a rampage and start destroying the cities of America, with the government trying to stop them in every way possible. Each level of the game is a separate U.S. city, in which the player must destroy soldiers, helicopters and other enemies.

The gameplay of Rampage is designed in such a way that all the action takes place on a small horizontal location, but the player has the ability to climb buildings to attack enemies. The enemies are various inhabitants of buildings, who periodically pop out of the windows and attack the monster by throwing various objects at it or firing weapons. There are also various military vehicles, such as a helicopter, which can only be shot down by jumping off the building.

In general, Rampage is a fun game and initially the player might think that the protagonists are not mutants - sorilla and lizard - but rather the well-known monsters from the King Kong and Godzilla movies.
