The NES game Pac-Land, or simply "Pac-Land", is a platform arcade game that was originally developed in 1984 for the arcade machine, and later ported to various platforms, including the NES.
The plot in Pac-Land, as such, does not exist. The player controls the hero, named Pac-Man, must bring the fairy to her country and get back home. The fairy is hidden under Pac-Man's hat. The character himself is known to everyone by the Pac-Man game of the same name, but the gameplay in Pac-Land is completely different, although many of the enemies are the same ghosts.
Pac-Land is a classic platform arcade game in which the character can jump and run. Pac-Man on the NES platform is not done in a standard way, the character's movement is not performed as usual with the joystick's cross wheel, but with the opposite of the two buttons - forward and backward, and the cross wheel is needed for jumping.
Pac-Land is a classic arcade game.
As a whole, Pac-Land is not a bad arcade game and it even has a two-player mode, but the main disadvantage of porting it to the NES is the non-standard controls that you have to get used to.
