  • The game for NES - Mappy or "Mouse Mappy", is an arcade platformer developed in Japan, in 1983 for arcade machines. A year later the game was ported to the NES, as well as other platforms and was available for the U.S. market. The game later received a sequel called Mappy-land and formed its own series.

The plot of Mappy is simple enough: the player controls a police mouse named Mappy, who runs around a high-rise house after thieving cats, Meowks, trying to recover stolen items. The Meowks hide in the house with their boss, Goro, and scatter stolen items on the floors. Mappy must collect these items while avoiding collisions with the Meowks.

Mappy's gameplay is similar to games like Nuts & Milk and Popeye, here you also have to run around the floors, collect power-ups and avoid running into enemies. You can move from floor to floor with the help of trampolines placed on the first floor, jumping with a certain force. If you jump on a trampoline for a long time, it will tear and will recover only after a certain amount of time. On each floor there are doors, with which Mappy can temporarily block the passage of the enemy, he can open and close them, unlike Meowk. Mappy can shoot a sonic wave that can not only open doors, but also push Meowk away.

As bonuses on the floors of the house, you must collect stolen items, which include various household items - paintings, televisions, computers, and so on. If it takes too long to collect items, the game starts to get more difficult, Meows starts to run faster and additional enemies appear, including the boss Goro. In addition to the usual levels, of which the game has about 250, there are bonus levels where you just have to collect points - balloons for a while. Mappy has a two-player mode where you can take turns playing and compete in the number of points you collect.
