The NES game Hook, or "Hook", is an arcade adventure game based on the pirate movie Captain Hook. The game was developed in 1991 for various platforms, including the NES.
The plot of Hook tells the story of a certain guy named Pan, who long ago defeated the dangerous pirate Captain Hook. Pan has a family and a house of his own, he has two children and a quiet life. One day, Captain Hook returns and kidnaps Pan's children, fleeing to an unknown destination. Pan has no choice but to remember the old days, arm himself and go in search of his children. In the game, a fairy named Tinker Bell is present as an NPC, helping Pan on his journey.
Hook's gameplay, while typical for games of this genre, also has a number of features. One of the features is not the linearity of the game, ie the player can choose a level on the map, and not pass them in order. At each level you need to collect certain items to pass it. As enemies on the way of the hero meet various pirates, fairy creatures and traps. Pan himself can run, jump, bend, climb different platforms, as well as attack enemies. To attack enemies, Pan has a dagger that can also be used to block.
