The NES game Gimmick! or Mr.Gimmick, or Gimmiku in Japanese, is an arcade platformer with beautiful graphics and music. The game was developed in Japan and was released in 1992 and a year later it appeared in Europe.
In the story of the game, a little girl was given a funny toy, which she named Gimmick. The girl liked the toy a lot and played with it all the time, but she forgot about the others. One night the other toys kidnapped their mistress and transported her to another dimension. Gimmick must save his mistress, so he follows her to the other dimension, where all the events of the game take place.
There is no text in Gimmick, but all of the story backgrounds are illustrated with pictures, which is very funny.
The Gimmick uses magical energy in the form of a star, and other magical weapons appear as you play.
Another interesting nuance of this game is that after passing all levels and defeating the last boss Gimmick can not save the girl, because he has to find all the secrets hidden in each level during the game, without dying once. Only under this condition will the game be completed and Gimmick and the girl will return to their real world.
