Donkey Kong Jr. is a platform arcade game and sequel to the famous Donkey Kong series, namely its first part. The game was developed in 1982, in Japan and later re-released in the United States and Europe.

The plot of Donkey Kong Jr. the developers, unlike the first part, reversed, now the player has to control Donkey Kong Jr. and save his father, imprisoned in a cage.

The gameplay of Donkey Kong Jr. is similar to the first part, but due to the changes in the main character and his controls, a little different. Here also present platforms and added vines, on which Donkey Kong Jr. can climb. The enemies are crocodile-like creatures that can move around on platforms and vines. There are also bonuses in the form of various fruits in the levels.

On the whole, Donkey Kong Jr. is not a bad sequel to the first part and a worthy specimen in the series. The game also got another sequel, called Donkey Kong 3.
