The NES game Antarctic Adventure, or "Antarctic Adventure", is a platform arcade game developed in Japan in 1983. A little later the game was released in Europe and America just under the name Antarctic Adventure, the original Japanese title sounds differently.
The game was released in Europe and America.
The game has no plot, the main task of the player, controlling the penguin Penta, run around the Arctic in a circle from station to station, collecting bonuses on the way and avoiding enemies. The whole route is divided into segments of varying length and complexity of passage. As obstacles on the way the main character of Antarctic Adventure encounter ice-holes, seals coming up out of them and cracks in the ice. Collect flags along the way as bonuses, and catch fish that jump out of the ice-holes.
The gameplay of Antarctic Adventure is more in the direction of racing than arcade, it can rather be called a racing arcade. Of the minuses we can note the monotonous landscape at all stages of the game, it is clear that the Arctic, but at least some objects on the levels could be added. Overall, Antarctic Adventure is a rather primitive racing arcade game, which you can latch on to, but the game clearly can't claim to be a masterpiece. The gameplay and graphics are bearable enough for a 1983 game, if you want to pass the time for 15-20 minutes, this variant will do very well.
