  • The NES game Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun, or Kid Dracula, is an arcade platformer developed as a parody of Castlevania.

In the game's plot, Dracula's son, Alucard, is awakened in the middle of the night by the evil demon Garamot, challenges him, and disappears. Little Dracula sets out in search of the demon to punish him for such impudence. Following in the demon's footsteps, the protagonist traverses a variety of locations, such as Dracula's castle, the sky, space, the Arctic and others. As a weapon, Alucard uses energy charges that he shoots at his enemies. The enemies in Kid Dracula are a variety of baddies: zombies, monsters, ghosts, etc.

After completing the first five stages, the player gets a bonus skill, like self-directed energy charges, freezing the enemy, etc. A total of nine levels in the game, at the end of each of them is a battle with the boss. The locations themselves, as well as the main character and the enemies are designed in a humorous style, as is the story of the game.

Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun is a fun platform arcade game that's worth playing for both fans of the genre and fans of Castlevania. The gameplay is uncomplicated and reminiscent of arcades like Chip and Dale or Flintstones.
