The NES game Adventure Island 4 is the sequel to the legendary Hudson’s Adventure Island 3 and at the same time the last of the Master Higgins adventure games.
In the fourth part of the game, a certain evil spirit kidnaps all of Higgins' dinosaur helpers and the hero goes in search of them. Adventure Island 4 has the same gameplay as the previous games, but there is a difference in the branching of levels and the ability to save the progress of the game with a code. There are five types of dinosaurs that must be saved and after passing each boss, one of the dinosaurs is freed and there is an opportunity to use it in the inventory.
The main difference between Adventure Island 4 and the previous parts is the structure of levels which are now in the form of mazes. Walking through them takes a longer time, but thankfully the time counter has been removed.
The map of levels allows the hero to orientate himself. In addition to the world map, the inventory has been increased with new weapons such as spears, torches, umbrellas, and more.
